Kanagawa woman arrested for repeatedly calling police and saying ''Merry Christmas, die!''

Hazing is generally seen as a bad joke, and in recent years, Japan has suffered from cases that are simply unbelievable, and in today’s case it is not just silly jokes or teasing, but a somewhat disturbed woman.

A 55-year-old Kanagawa woman was arrested on suspicion of obstruction of business. According to local police, this woman called about 1,200 times over 8 days, December 20th to 27th.

Kanagawa woman arrested for repeatedly calling police and saying ”Merry Christmas, die!”

The calls were aggressive and abusive like ”Merry Christmas, die!”, we must highlight that in Japan, the word ”die” has more of a meaning of ”f#-you” than a real threat of death.

During the arrest, the woman was uncooperative, saying she didn’t remember anything she said. Now let’s check out some comments about this bizarre case, shall we?

”Merry Christmas, die! There is! I love that”

”I’m totally going to use this on Twitter”

”Perfect choice of words”

”It’s cheerful and rude”

”She should have stopped 1,100 times”

”She looks like a real tsundere”

”If only she could use that power for good” ”Why does it take the police so long to arrest someone after receiving 1,200 calls in 8 days?”

There’s a big question in that last comment. Basically after the police make an arrest, they have 23 days to build a case and submit it to the Public Prosecutor’s Office.

In the meantime, they need to confirm that there was indeed obstruction of business rather than mental instability on the part of the woman. The more she called, the stronger the obstruction became which led to her arrest. This is indeed a very crazy Christmas story that occurred in Kanagawa Prefecture in Japan.
